Fresh from his tour of the magnificent debut album, Chewing The Fat, James Gavin presents a compelling new project with acclaimed experimental folk artist Adrian Lever and jazz composer/bassist Tim Fairhall. The trio weave a fresh and dynamic sound from their diverse roots and explore pathways between tradition, creation and improvisation. They will play new music from their forthcoming LP, as well as songs from their debut EP, Live from the Welsh Chapel.
James Gavin.
Known for his consistent collaborative work at the forefront of London’s thriving folk scene, multi-instrumentalist and composer James Gavin creates music that dances the line between tradition and irreverence, city and hinterland, groove and grace. His highly acclaimed album, Chewing The Fat, betrays Gavin’s remarkable compositional ability to trace those ley lines of the Irish folk diaspora beyond the historical to the truly original.
Tim Fairhall.
Tim Fairhall breaks from his notable contributions to contemporary jazz, improv and post-classical on stages as far and wide as the Royal Albert Hall, Cologne Philharmonic, Gulbenkian Grande Auditorium Lisbon to bring his distinctive style (as well as his Guildhall distinction) to bear on the roots of Gavin’s compositions.
Adrian Lever.
After eight years of innovation with the critically acclaimed Horses Brawl, as well as performing regularly as part of trio Alma and stomping stages at Lewes guitar Festival and the Barbican, Adrian Lever lends his seasoned and steady hand at guitar to the trio’s unique and beautiful sound.
